Evolv Technology Awarded U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) SAFETY Act Designation for Evolv Express®

“We’re honored to receive the SAFETY Act Designation which we believe further supports the effectiveness of our technology, and ultimately, our ability to help keep people safe,” said Peter George, Evolv Technology President and CEO. “Not only does the DHS’s SAFETY Act Designation further validate our AI-based technology to the physical security market, but we believe it will also provide our customers and their visitors with increased assurance that Evolv helps to provide the safest possible venue entry, without the traditional metal detector experience.”

Safety Act Designation
This distinction qualifies Evolv Technology to receive the SAFETY Act’s benefits for selected Anti-Terrorism Technologies Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV, “Evolv”), the global leader in weapons detection security screening, that Evolv Express®, its artificial intelligence.

Evolv Express is the only high-throughput weapons detection screening system to achieve SAFETY Act Designation.

The Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act (SAFETY Act) was introduced by Congress in 2002 to incentivize the creation of technologies to combat terrorism in the wake of 9/11.

This designation demonstrates Evolv’s belief that the security industry demands a new standard for security screening that can adequately address threats to crowds where people gather without impacting their experience.

Evolv Technology Stops Over 30,000 Guns From
Entering Venues in The First Six Months Of 2022

Evolv is committed to making venue ingress faster, easier, and more secure across the world. The Evolv Express® system, which uses a powerful combination of artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, and comprehensive analytics, screens nearly 750,000 people each day – and as many as 1.25 million a day on weekends. Since January 2022, Evolv has detected and stopped over 30,000 guns and 27,000 knives, excluding law enforcement, from entering its customers’ venues, including schools, performing arts centers, casinos, stadiums, arenas, hospitals, and other workplaces. These numbers represent approximately a third of customers who are currently tagging the threats by utilizing Evolv’s analytics platform, called Evolv Insights.

Partnering with customers, Evolv Express® systems have stopped potential mass casualties in areas that are intended to be weapons-free. In the past few months alone, two incidents have taken place where the Evolv Express® systems prevented a loaded gun from entering a hospital and a school where, in each case, it was believed there was intent to do harm and law enforcement was engaged.
